After nearly a year of almost readiness Fable & Tale is fully and officially open for business.
Head on over to our Etsy Shop to check out some (in our opinion) pretty awesome t-shirts, uber cozy sweatshirts, lovely tote bags, super-puffed (and classy to boot...again, our humble opinion) throw pillows.
Our newest (and of course, current favorite) design is a elegant mermaid accompanied by one of Megan's best stories.
Come on over. Take a look. Let us know what you think!

Awesome in the Woods...well sort of
Rather, the woodsy areas between the Legion of Honor and the golf course.
Fable & Tale will soon have all of the new items available at the etsy shop.
We would like to thank the lovely Emily for being such a gracious and awesome model.
Emily, thank you for braving the cold, the rain, the awkward gawkers who would slow down their cars to wonder why so much awesome was being photographed by such an amateur... You are the best!

totes at Kepler's
So, you know those totes we were making? Well... You can now purchase the fruits of our labors at Kepler's Books in Menlo Park. I think they'll be available in the online store at some point, but for now you have to actually stroll into the store to pick one up. Grab a book while you're there (may I recommend Packing for Mars by Mary Roach?) and stop by Cafe Borrone, which is next door, for some amazing hot chocolate.
Our Etsy store is on a little hiatus right now (we're heading to Europe for a few weeks for adventure and friends), but when we get back we'll be putting up the our fairy and dragon totes and hopefully some new designs as well (we've got mermaids and cats up our sleeves), so keep an eye out.

totes
It's been ages, but we're starting up again. Right now, we're making tote bags for your books, your lunch, your precious odds and ends, your life.
Linen exterior. Cotton voile lining. One interior pocket . We sew these ourselves, screen them ourselves, draw and write and print them... wait for it... all ourselves. We're in the process of making a batch, so when they're ready to go up on Etsy, we'll let you know!

why, hello there
This is almost the beginning of an adventure in which two sisters set out to indulge their various fascinations and enthusiasms by making things. You have (probably) missed (most of) the boring parts. You may be in time for thrilling escapades, cozy chitchat, odd curios, and even a recipe or two, though one never can be sure.
Let us introduce ourselves:
Megan (that's me) and Shannon (that's her). And this is us.

Most of the pictures are by Shannon and most of the words are by Megan, though sometimes we switch it up, just for fun.
Right now, we are making t-shirts inspired by fairytales and those picture books we used to -- and still do -- love (Arthur Rackham, Edmund Dulac, P. J. Lynch...). We get to mess around with India ink, light-sensitive chemicals, and a homemade screenprinting apparatus. You can find the results of these experiments on Etsy by clicking here:
